‘Bhoomi Poojan’ would take over Times Square in New York on August 5

By all accounts, the “Bhoomi Poojan” ceremony of the propsed Ram Temple in Ayodhya, would be a spectacular phenomenon in not just India but around the world.

The lead-up to the event is hotting up with PTI reporting that prominent billboards in the Times Square in New York, including the 17000-square-foot-wrap-around LED display screen and the giant Nasdaq screen have been leased for August 5, the day of the Bhoomi Poojan.

These are the biggest exterior display of LED screens at Times Square.

The initiative apparently has been taken by American India Public Affairs Committee, its president Jagdish Sewhani announced yesterday.

The display would begin at 8 a.m and would continue till 10 pm on the day. Images with “Jai Shri Ram” in Hindi and English, portraits of Bhagwan Ram, videos, 3D paintings of Ram Mandir, design, architecture, pictures and videos of Bhoomi Poojan would be displayed across several billboards.

The members of the Indian community would assemble at Times Square to mark the celebration.

“Under Prime Minister Modi, the construction of the Ram Temple is a dream come true for Hindus all over the world. Till six years back, we never thought that this day would come soon but due to Modi’s leadership, this day has come, and we want to celebrate it in a befitting way,” said Sehwani.

Last year, on November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court had ruled that the disputed land in Ayodhya belonged to Ram Lalla Virajman and gave green signal for the construction of the Ram Mandir.

The Supreme Court verdict put a lid on a wait of centuries for Hindus to claim the birthplace of Lord Ram, a most sacred site of Hinduism.
