‘Haramkhor’ and all, Raut is still promoted as Sena’s chief spokesperson

Sanjay Raut seems to have only gained from his distasteful comment of “haramkhor” on actor-crusader Kangana Ranaut. He has been promoted by his Shiv Sena as party’s chief spokesperson.

There are other 10 leaders who have been appointed as the spokesperson of the party, which include a notabe name of former Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi but Raut’s name of course takes the cake.

Raut has been abusive to Kangana Ranaut and has also made light of the charges made on lapses on investigations into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. He not only has used foul language but also threatened Ranaut to not return to Mumbai if she couldn’t be grateful to the place that made her a star.

Pratap Sarnaik is another who has been made spokesperson of Shiv Sena. He had threatened Ranaut with physical violence. He had stated: “If you come to Mumbai in the future and our women’s ing does something, then we will not find it wrong to take responsibility…I demand sedition charges against her and that she should be arrested.”

Kishori Pednekar is another in the spokesperson list. Responding to a tweet, she had said that girls like Kangana won’t understand and would only listen when “beaten up with slippers.” Pednekar, who is also Mayor of Mumbai, tweeted that people of Mumbai had just thrown slippers at Kangana’s pictures and would repeat the same if they met her in person.”

Priyanka Chaturvedi, who had left Congress with the allegation that rogue elements in the party were not being pulled up for how they treated here, has also raised her voice. She had slammed the chief of National Commission of Women (NCW) for demanding security for the actor.

Meanwhile Maharashtra CM Udhav Thackeray took a veiled potshot on Ranaut and that too in the Legislative Assembly on Monday: “Many people from across the country come to Mumbai and Maharashtra. They earn their livelihood. They earn fame. Some people are grateful to Maharashtra and some people are not.”

A state which is reeling under Coronavirus pandemic is picking up cudgels against those who are asking for justice and clean-up of the system.
