160 Hindus, Sikhs escape blast at Kabul Airport





Amid the chaotic scenes after Thursday’s twin suicide blasts at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee informed how 160 Afghan Sikhs and Hindus narrowly escaped the blast and has now taken refuge inside a Gurudwara.

Following the attack, Sirsa called up the Kabul Gurdwara Committee chief who said that 145 Afghan Sikhs and 15 Hindus were standing at the place where the attack took place on Thursday.

 Sirsa took to Twitter and posting the images of the explosion said, “Today’s Kabul airport explosion has happened at exactly same place where they were standing yesterday. We thank the almighty that such thing didn’t happen yesterday.” 

More than 100 people were killed, including at least 13 United States service members and 90 Afghans, at the Kabul airport.

A suicide bomb attack at the airport’s Abbey Gate was followed by an assault by gunmen, officials said. Another bomb attack took place nearby, at a hotel outside the airport, officials said
