Ashok Dinda attacked in Midnapore, blames Trinamool

In a disturbing turn of events, former India fast bowler, Ashok Dinda was attacked by miscreants in West Bengal’s East Midnapore on Tuesday. The former Bengal pace spearhead was returning from a roadshow when his SUV was attacked by hundreds of goons, wielding lathi and rods, his manager said.

He further informed that the goons, allegedly of Trinamool Congress, also pelted stones at their vehicle.

“The incident happened right in front of Moyna Bazar when we were returning from a roadshow. There was one local TMC goon, Shahjahan Ali, who along with others, numbering more than a hundred, attacked with lathi, rods and bricks,” the manager said

According to the early reports, the former pacer has sustained an injury on his back.

He has accused the rival Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers of carrying out this attack.

However, the TMC has denied the allegation, saying the attack was the result of an infighting within the BJP.

Meanwhile, officials have informed that the Election Commission sought a report from the district administration in connection with the incident.

Ashok Dinda joined BJP in February this year and was formally inducted into the party in presence of the Union Minister Babul Supriyo and state BJP vice president Arjun Singh at a public meeting in Kolkata.
