Does Rahul Gandhi use cocaine?

Does Rahul Gandhi use cocaine?

This allegation is likely to simmer in public domain over the next few days after BJP MP Dr. Subramanian Swamy was booked at two different states on his remarks to the same effect.

First Chattisgarph police filed an FIR against the maverick BJP leader and then another one was filed in the Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, both initiated from within the Congress fold.

In Chattisgarh, the FIR was lodged late Saturday on a complaint filed by Jashpur district Congress president Pawan Agarwal at Patthalgaon police station of the district.

The FIR  alleges that “Swamy himself knows that his statement was false and intended to insult Rahul Gandhiji. Swamy knows that his statement can encourage enmity between political parties and provoke people. Such a statement can disturb peace among people.”

Multiple cases have been slapped against Dr. Swamy: Section 504 (intentional) insult with intent to provoke breach of peace); 505 (2) (intent to incite any class or community of a person) and 511 (attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Various wings of the Congress, including the Youth Congress, Women’s Congress and the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) in the Chattisgarh state have been filing a complaint against Swamy at police stations in all the districts and development block headquarters since Saturday night.

In Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh, senior Congress leader PL Punjia filed a complaint against the allegation by Dr Swamy. “We have lodged an FIR against Subramanian Swamy at Kotwali station in Barabanki over his remark that Congress president Rahul Gandhi consumes cocaine…We have demanded strict against against Subramanian,”  said Punia.

Interestingly, in his twitter account, Dr Swamy has ridiculed the FIRs on two counts:  One, first Chattisgarh Police would have to prove that Dr. Swamy’s statement could affect “peace among people”; Two, they would have to establish that Rahul Gandhi doesn’t take cocaine by conducting a medical examination on him.

“Rahul Gandhi certainly takes narcotics, especially cocaine. He will surely fail a dope test”, Dr Swamy had told news agency ANI in response to Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal’s comment that those people who had accused 70 per cent Punjabis of being drug addicts are themselves embroiled in drugs and should take dope test.

Ironically, the day these developments took place, Rahul Gandhi himself was making defamatory statements against Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi.

On being granted the ball for the defamation case filed by Sushil Modi for allegedly saying “All thieves had the surname, Modi,” Rahul couldn’t help himself into saying: “Whoever stands against RSS’ and Narendra Modiji’s ideology is attacked, court cases are slapped.”

Congress is presently governing the eastern state of Chattisgarh.
