Dream 11 wins IPL 2020 title sponsorship for Rs 222 crores

Dream 11 is Indian Premier League’s new sponsors, albeit just for the present year, in a deal which is worth Rs 222 crores.

Dream 11, which is a online fantasy sports company, was today chosen as sponsors by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after Vivo pulled out earlier this month.

The IPL 2020 is scheduled in Dubai, UAE between September 19 and November 10.

Dream 11 won the sponsorship rights beating Byju’s and Unacademy, among other.

When Vivo had pulled out, being a China’s company, a nation which has Indians’ ire due to what’s happening at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had dismissed the moment as a minor “blip” which won’t lead to “financial crisis.”

Vivo had held the rights from 2018 to 2022 for a whopping Rs 2190 crores.
