The Jharkhand Congress on Thursday issued a show-cause notice to senior party leader Furqan Ansari for his outburst against senior leader Rahul Gandhi and the party’s state in-charge RPN Singh.

Ansari, a former Lok Sabha member and a prominent Muslim leader in Jharkhand, had raised questions on Rahul Gandhi’s campaigning in Bihar assembly elections saying that Rahul Gandhi needs “political advisors” instead of MBA graduated in his office who are keeping him in dark.

Referring to his address in a rally at Kahalgaon in Bihar, Ansari had said that the former party chief failed to impress people as “they couldn’t understand what he spoke”.

“They are not able to give him the right advice or suggest key talking points for his campaign speeches. To strengthen the Congress, it is important for Rahul Gandhi to have a political advisor,” said Ansari.

His statement came when top senior leaders like Kapil Sibal and Ghulam Nabi Azad had already spoken openly against the central leadership of Gandhis.

He has also said that he will write to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to seek major changes in the party organization.

"I have been a Congressman since 1980 when India Gandhi was the Prime Minister of India. I need no certificate to prove that I belong to Congress. But today it hurts me to see this condition of the party," he added.

Besides, Rahul Gandhi, Ansari also attacked Jharkhand in-charge RPN Singh saying, “If I were at the helm, I would have not appointed him (Singh) even a block president,”

Following his statement against the party leader, there were demands from state leaders for strict action against Ansari to send a “stern message” to dissenters.

Acting upon that, the party’s Jharkhand working president Kamlesh Mahto issued a show-cause notice to Ansari on behalf of state unit chief Rameshwar Oraon.

In the notice, Ansari has been asked to explain his remarks within 7 days.

Differences in Congress don’t seem to end soon and it looks like the Gandhi family is trying hard to quash these internal revolts but failing equally hard to it.

It was just a few days back when senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal has shown his dissent and questioned the silence of the top leadership for the poor show in Bihar.

Not only him, but leaders like P. Chidambaram and Salman Khurshid who are considered as true Congressmen are also criticizing the party’s approach toward elections.

nior leader Salman Khurshid has suggested that the Congress should be prepared for a long battle while former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram expressed concern over the weak organization.
