Gehlot and Pilot again headed for a confrontation in Rajsthan

Oblivious by the developments within the party, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi may soon face new trouble as tension seems to have risen again between Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot.

Months after their patch-up, rebellion has again reared its head between the two leaders. Three Rajasthan Congress MLAs, namely Ramesh Meena, Murari Lal Meena and Ved Prakash Solanki, who were part of the rebellion against Gehlot last year, have accused Gehlot of being biased against the legislators of Scheduled Castes and other backward communities.

Among other things, the allegation is that legislators of SC/ST and OBCs are not provided with seats with microphones in the assembly.

Meena, addressing the media outside the assembly, said: “I will meet Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding this issue. I have sought time for a meeting. If our problems are not resolved, then I will not step back from resigning,”

For the unversed, the discord between the two factions became evident last July after rebel Pilot was ousted as deputy chief minister.
