India test-fires Shaurya missile successfully; can hit 800-km target





In a significant development towards expanding its missile force, India successfully test-fired a new version of nuclear-capable Shaurya missile off the Orissa coast on Saturday. The missile can strike targets at around 800 km/s and according to reports while moving close to its target, the missile moves at hypersonic speeds.

The sources further mentioned that the missile would be much lighter in weight in comparison to the earlier ones and can be operated easily without any hassle.

 Along with this,  India also test-fired the advanced version of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile which can hit targets at over 400 km/s- 100kms more than the previous one.
