Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Friday said Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has no right to stay in Mumbai if she feels unsafe.
Kangana Ranaut on Thursday triggered the debate by saying that Mumbai “felt like Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir” and compared the ruling government of state with the Taliban.
33-year-old Ms. Ranaut claimed that she did not trust the Mumbai police and demands protection from the Himachal government.
In response to her statement Mr. Deshmukh, while talking to the media said,
We have seen how the Mumbai Police sacrificed their lives during the coronavirus pandemic. It’s not right for an actor to say such things about our police, we condemn it. Mumbai and Maharashtra are secured by the police. If anyone feels unsafe about living in Mumbai or Maharashtra, they have no right to live here,”
Earlier, the actor took to Twitter to target the Mumbai Police. Her outburst came when Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s slammed the actor in the party mouthpiece, ‘Saamana’, and urged her not to return to the city.
While criticizing Mumbai police, she tweeted,
“After a major star has been killed I spoke about drug and movie mafia racket, I don’t trust @MumbaiPolice cos they ignored SSR’s complaints, he told everyone they will kill him yet he was killed, if I feel unsafe, does that mean I hate the industry and Mumbai?”
In another tweet, she also said she is astonished by how the Maharashtra government had “promoted itself from PoK to Taliban” in just one day.
This is a third time in the week she trained her guns and blasted on Mumbai police. On Wednesday also she blamed Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh for liking an offensive tweet against her.
Currently, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Electoral Directorate (ED), and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) continue their investigation in the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide matter.
