Mahua Moitra betrays her hate for Hindus; denigrates Hindu new year

The Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra caught in a dumb act by accusing Bharatiya Janata Party for spreading radicalisation for wishing Hindus on Hindu new year.

Taking to Twitter, Moitra out of the blue today posted, “Woke up to see @BJP wishing people “Happy Hindu New Year”.

Radicalisation is complete. It’s Poila Baisakh for us. Celebrated as New Year in WB and Bangladesh. You will NEVER win Bengal. Never, you flea-brained haters.”

Now apparently, it seems like it got two days for her to get triggered with BJP wishing the Hindus for ‘their new year’.

Chaitra navratri is also known as the Vasanta navratri. It usually falls in the month of March or April and marks the first day of the Hindu calendar. Maharashtrians celebrate the first day of this navratri as Gudi Padwa and in Kashmir, it is called as Navreh. It also marks new year- Vaishakha, for people in Bengal, Assam and Tripura. Similarly, in different parts of India, the Hindu calendar months also vary.

However, netizens were quick to target her rather for spreading communalism. One of the social media users even explicitly asked her that if she doesn’t consider Bengalis as Hindu?

Another user slammed her and wrote, “Most Indian states have different ways to address new year. Respect Cultural diversity. Don’t try to redefine cultural uniqueness of India. Nationalism does not mean that”

Some even explained that while people in Bangladesh also celebrate Poila Baishakh, it is actually Hindus who celebrate it as such.

Some were really cutting in their comment.

Interestingly, with her tweet, it was also evident that she missed Prime Minister Narender Modi greeting everyone for Poyla Boishakh.

While Moitra wanted to paint everyone who was celebrating the Hindu new year as ‘radical’, the hate for Hindus was actually more evident in her tweet.
