Mamata has ‘severe bone injuries’, claim attending doctors

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee is suffering from “severe bone injuries”, in her left ankle, foot and right shoulder, said the doctors attending to her in SSKM hospital in Kolkata.

Mamata alleged that she was attacked by unknown persons during her visit to Nandigram on Wednesday to file her nomination papers for the constituency for the forthcoming assembly polls.

Mamata has complained of chest pain and breathlessness since the alleged attack and doctors have decided to monitor her for next 48 hours.

The CM’s nephew and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee has shared CM Mamata’s photo on Twitter, where she can be seen resting on the hospital bed with a plaster on her left leg. Tagging West Bengal BJP in his post, Abhishek wrote, “Brace yourselves to see the power of people of BENGAL on Sunday, May 2nd.”
