That the Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee is facing trouble from the CBI on post-poll violence in Bengal, after National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in plain words judged her party Trinamool Congress guilty, and yet is being “deified” as Goddess Durga has hurt the sensibilities of Hindus in Bengal and is nauseating, claimed BJP IT chief Amit Malviya on Friday.
This deification of Mamata Banerjee, who has blood of innocent Bengalis on her hand, following the gruesome post poll violence in Bengal, is nauseating. This is an insult to goddess Durga. Mamata Banerjee must stop this. She is hurting the sensibilities of Hindus of Bengal. https://t.co/1px1OqsFWA
Malviya termed it an insult to Goddess Durga. He said Banerjee had “blood of innocent Bengalis on her hand” and asked the chief minister to put an end to the deification.
It all was sparked after three pandal committees in West Bengal collaborated to make idols of Mamata Banerjee for upcoming Pujo celebrations. Ostensibly meant to praise Mamata for her social welfare schemes, the committee chiefs claimed Mamata would sport ten hands—each representing her government’s schemes like Lakhi Bhadar and Shikshashree etc.
