Massive show of strength for Modi on Kolkata’s prime streets

On Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party organised a massive Parivartan Rally in West Bengal. It launched the “Run for Modi” campaign which had streets overflowing with citizens in his support. His fans took out a march from Shyambazar to Vivekananda Road.

They sported saffron ’T-shirts which had Modi’s image emblazoned and they kept chanting “Modi ache, Modi ache (Modi is Coming).

Sukanta Majumdar, member of parliament from the Balurghat constituency tweeted: “Great enthusiasm among the youth of Kolkata.”

National BJP Secretary Sunil Deodhar tweeted, “Enthusiastic Youth of Bengal wants Poriborton (change). It’s just a matter of time before Mamata Didi’s govt. bites the dust.” Deodhar, incidentally, is the one who was architect of BJP’s massive victory in Tripura in 2018, breaching the stronghold of the Communist party.

Amidst the jubilant celebration, Bengali actor and former TMC member Hiran Chatterjee joined the BJP’s campaign ‘Run for Modi’. The Parivartan rally also had the BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga joining.

The event organised by Modipara (translated to Modi’s neighbourhood) saw massive show of strength by youth.
