Modi in Bihar: “People would reject those who made Bihar a `Bimaru’ state”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked people of Bihar to never forget who made them backwards who are now “looking at the developing state with their greedy eyes.”
Addressing rally in Dehri-on Sone in Sasaram, the prime minister said people of Bihar would never let those return who made the State a “Bimaru” one.
“The people who once ruled Bihar are again looking at the developing state with their greedy eyes. But, Bihar must not forget who pushed them backward, that was the time when there was worsening law and order situation and corruption in the state,” said Modi while addressing a large rally.
He said, "Everyone was waiting for Article 370 to be repealed but these people are saying that they will overturn the decision once they are voted to power."
Modi added, "The NDA government abrogated Article 370. These people say they will bring it back if they come to power. After making such statements they dare to ask for votes from Bihar? Is this not an insult of Bihar? The state which sends its sons and daughters to the borders to protect the country?"
Article 370 seems to be the highlight of the rallies in campaigns for Bihar elections as chief minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh and campaigner of BJP in Bihar also said at rallies in Tarari, Paliganj, and Jamui that "Earlier, a person from this part of Bihar could not even think of owning property in Kashmir. The Congress had put such a system in place. But Narendra Modi and Amit Shah changed all that. Article 370 has been scrapped and the people now can buy and own property in any part of Kashmir."
Modi also lauded chief minister Nitish Kumar of JD (U) for his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. “The decisions and steps taken by the state govt and people of Bihar against the pandemic are highly commendable,” he added.
Later, addressing another rally in Gaya, Modi said Bihar doesn’t need a lalten (Lantern)—the political symbol of RJD. He is scheduled to visit Bhagalpur later in the day.
In all Modi is set to hold 12 rallies in the state in the coming day. Nitin Kumar is also accompanying the prime minister in Sasaram and Bhagalpur.
“PM Modi will hold 12 election rallies in Bihar for NDA (National Democratic Alliance) candidates. On October 28, he will hold rallies in Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur and Patna. On November 3, he will address rallies in west Chhapra, east Champaran and Samastipur. On November 5, his rallied are scheduled in west Champaran, Saharsa and Araria.
Rahul Gandhi, elsewhere in an election rally in Nawada, made a claim that Chinese troops had occupied nearly 1,200km of Indian land.
“The Chinese army killed 20 of our soldiers and took over 1,200 kilometres of our land. Why did our PM insult the heroes by lying that no one came inside India when Chinese soldiers came inside our land. Today he says I bow my head,” said Rahul Gandhi.
Voting for 243 assembly seats in the state will be held on October 28, November 3 and November 7 and results will be announced on November 10.
