More vaccines to Maharashtra and Rajasthan, both non-BJP states: : Harsh Vardhan

Union health minister Harsh Vardhan today dug the knife that bit extra on recalcitrant States as ruckus on Covid-19 vaccines spilled on to on Thursday.

Dr Harsh Vardhan called it “hue and cry by certain states about partisanship” as “farce” and an attempt to hide their own incompetence.

Dr Vardhan tweeted the figures and said “Maharashtra and Rajasthan are two of the top three States based on allocation of Covid-19 Vaccine doses. Both are non-BJP states.”

In a subsequent tweet, Dr Vardhan said: “Let’s put an end to fear mongering now. He claimed that so far 9 crore plus vaccines have been administered while either nearing or in stock to States is 4.3 crores plus. Where does question of shortage arise?

Dr Vardhan had yesterday tore into Maharashtra, and other states such as Punjab, Delhi, Chattisgarh, for claiming more vaccines and asking the drive to be open to all adults when it was agreed upon in a meeting between Centre-States that vaccination would be done on a priority basis.

Shiv Sena on its part had claimed that they were getting less vaccines than states who have substantially less population than Maharashtra.
