Oberoi launches ‘Saaton Seatein Modi Ko’ campaign in Capital

Changing gears for the sixth and penultimate phase of elections in Delhi (May 12), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched “Saaton Seatein Modi Ko (All seven seats to Modi)” campaign at India Gate on Saturday evening.

Actor Vivek Oberoi held spotlight as he articulated his admiration for Modi and how the latter alone holds key to India’s future and security. He was all praise for PM’s unflagging energy and vision which has earned him admiration across the globe. Said Oberoi: “Surgical Strike and UN action on Masood Azhar have cheered us because of Modi and we should ensure that this time too he wins all seven seats in Delhi.”

Oberoi, who essayed the life of PM Modi in his biopic, now slated for release on May 24 after the machinations of the opposition delayed its screening, said Modi and symbol of “Chowkidar” has a significance beyond just rhetoric.

“The history of India demonstrates that whenever any a prince or any foreigner has ruled us, they have only robbed us. Now, all the citizens and all the ‘Chowkidars’ won’t let the country be robbed again,” he told mediapersons.

Bangalore South candidate of BJP, Tejasvi Surya also reached the venue and addressed an enthusiastic and responsive gathering, which kept swelling as the time went by.  Amidst the slogans of ‘Modi, Modi’, which has by now become the hallmark of BJP rallies and meetings, Surya called upon the gathering to ensure maximum voting in their circles and make sure that BJP repeats it’s 2014 performance and win all seven seats in Delhi.

Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) minister and now a Modi supporter, Kapil Mishra came down heavily on Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. Appraising the mood of the people, Mishra said Kejriwal had failed on all fronts and the people of Delhi cannot be taken for ride for the second time. He also tore into Sheila Dikshit and her years of corruption and misgovernance as Delhi chief minister.

As the news of Kejriwal getting slapped by one of the workers of AAP went viral, Mishra said that as Kejriwal has only lied and abused in the last four years, people are angry and frustrated and want to punish him.

Later a ‘Mashal March’ was organised and Kapil Mishra, addressing media, said that the Mashal symbolises the light in the darkness of Kejriwal’s dark rule.
