The AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi begin his election campaign in Uttar Pradesh by targeting his opponents Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party chiefs Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati, crediting their 'foolishness' for the return of the Bharatiya Janata Party government.
"Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country twice because of the ''nasamjhi'' (foolishness) of Akhilesh (Yadav) and Mayawati," said Owaisi while addressing a rally in Odara village of Sultanpur district.
Owaisi was responding to the accusations of Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati who called him as the "vote spoiler" for their parties.
Retorting to that, he asked if all Muslims had voted for Akhilesh Yadav's party, how come a BJP candidate won from here in the last assembly polls?
"The BJP did not win the two consecutive general elections in 2014 and 2019 with the Muslims votes as they got only 6% of their votes in the two polls," reasoned Owaisi.
He didn’t stop there and launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party president, asking "Are Muslims your slaves?"
While consolidating his electoral position, Owaisi said while his party defeated BJP in Hyderabad, SP and BSP only “cheated” Muslims in the name of secularism.
