PM Modi to unveil Vivekananda’s statue in JNU on November 12





Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to unveil a life-size statue of Swami Vivekanand in Jawaharlal Nehru University on November 12, at 6:30 pm. JNU Vice-Chancellor, M Jagadesh Kumar informed about the same through video conferencing. In an official statement, Mr. Kumar also mentioned that the unveiling of the statue will be preceded by a program on Swami Vivekananda.

The event will be live-streamed on JNU’s Facebook page.

“Swami Vivekananda is one of the most beloved intellectuals and spiritual leaders India has been fortunate to produce. He enthused the youth with his message of freedom, development, harmony, and peace in India. The statue of Swami Vivekananda has been installed in the university campus with the support of JNU alumni,” he added

Earlier, on November 7, PM Modi addressed IIT Delhi’s 51st annual convocation ceremony where he praised the students for their exceptional abilities and talents.

 He also attended the convocation ceremony of IIT Guwahati in September. He applauded the professor and students for bringing transformational change.
