Former president Pranab Mukherjee has tested positive on Coronavirus, the elder statesmen revealed himself this afternoon.
In a tweet, Mukherjee urged all those who came in touch with him last week to isolate themselves and get tested for Covid-19.
“On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive…I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week to please self-isolate and get tested for Covid-19,” the 84-year-old former president tweeted today.
There seems to be a flurry of high-profile politicians who are testing Coronavirus. Names which readily come to mind are home minister Amit Shah and Karnataka chief minister, BS Yediyurappa. Besides, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Congress leader Siddaramaiah have also tested positive in the last few weeks.
