Former union minister and Congress leader Salman Khurshid informed that the party will be fighting for the crucial 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
“The party will not form an alliance with any party. We will contest the elections with firm belief. We will be fighting the upcoming Assembly elections under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. She is working hard to ensure that we win. Later on, she may announce the CM's face," he said.
Khurshid further added that Congress would field candidates for all 403 Assembly seats in UP.
He also informed that this time their manifesto would not be prepared on the recommendation of the experts rather it would include the general issues of the local people.
However, data from last year assembly by-polls on seven seats don’t offer any evidence that a solo outing would particularly help Congress. The Congress contested six candidates but failed to win even a single seat.
