Railways to offer 1.4 lakh jobs in next few months





Indian Railways plans to fill up 1.4 lakh vacancies in the next few months and more than 2.44 crore aspirants will appear for the exams. The recruitment examination for these posts will be conducted by 21 Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) in three phases starting this month. The entire process is likely to be completed in the next six months, by June 2021.

Of the total of 1.4 lakh posts, over 35,200 are in non-technical popular categories (NTPC) like guards, office clerks, commercial clerks and others, 1,663 posts for isolated and ministerial categories such as stenos and teachers, and 1,03,796 posts for level one vacancies such as track maintainers and pointsman.

The candidates will be informed individually through emails and SMS about their city of exam, date and shift of exam, according to railways. Link for downloading e-call letters will be made live four days prior to exam dates on official websites of all RRBs.

The exams will be conducted keeping all pandemic protocols laid down by the government in mind. Adherence to social distancing, use face masks and sanitizers will be the standards norms. Not only this, the railways will also run special trains for the candidates.
