The BJP leader, Smriti Irani also added that "I cannot stop a leader in a democratic nation but people understand that their visit to Hathras is for their politics and not for justice to the victim."

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had tweeted today earlier in Hindi that "Nothing would be able to stop him from meeting the victim's family."
Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Hathras along with sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to meet the grieving family.
As per a senior official, borders of the village have been opened only for the reporters after 48 hours.
Prem Prakash Meena, Joint Magistrate at Hathras told ANI, a news agency that, "Rahul Gandhi is not allowed... currently the arrival of any political party leader is banned." She also added, "when orders come to allow delegations, we will let everybody know."
