Terming the current ruling coalition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra as an “unnatural alliance”, former chief minister and leader of opposition Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said that though they are not eyeing the power in the state, such government (referring to MVA) have not lasted long in the country and the alliance would fail.
Fadnavis said that Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is working towards being a strong opposition and not waiting for the alliance to fall but, “the day it falls, we will give an alternative government” he told the reporters
While speaking to the media in Pune, he also said that “the MVA government will be completing a year but we cannot see any achievement yet. They made many promises but failed to fulfill any of them. The announced relief amount was not given to the farmers affected by the floods.”
Fadnavis also alleged that Shiv Sena is not Maharashtra and accused them of lableling those who levelled charges of corruption against it as being “Maharashtra-drohi” (anti-Maharashtra).
After the 2019 elections, the BJP’s 80-hour government had collapsed and the MVA government came to power, due to complete its first anniversary on November 28.
