Tejashwi takes “Pita Jaan” swipe at Yogi Adityanath
Bihar's Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's remark on 'Abba Jaan’ saying that the Bharatiya Janata Party is only trying to prove its 'appeasement politics' by sending out such comments.
According to him, the saffron party was indulging in the politics of religion and caste. Yadav said, “Whether he says 'Abba Jaan' or something else, BJP and Yogi Ji should tell this- how many jobs did you provide to those who say 'Pita Jaan'? You have imparted education to how many persons? Why are you not reducing inflation? BJP leaders are playing the politics of religion and caste. The elections are due to take place."
However, he also claimed that his party does not have a grass-root level organization like BJP and thus they will only support other parties rather than contesting elections on their own.
"Our national president will decide. But just like in Bengal, we'll support the one (party) that, we think, will defeat BJP. We've not contested in UP for years, we don't have an organization like that".
It must be noted that CM Yogi has used “Abba Jaan” implying how his predecessor and Samajwadi chief Akhilesh Yadav appeased Muslims. Addressing a program in Kushinagar on Sunday, Adityanath had alleged that people did not get rations before 2017 as they do now. "Because then, people who say 'abba jaan' used to digest the rations. The rations of Kushinagar used to go to Nepal and Bangladesh. Today, if anybody tries to swallow the rations meant for poor people, he will land in jail," the chief minister had said.
Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait also called AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi BJP’s “chacha jaan,” alleging that Owaisi and BJP were a team.
"...BJP's chacha jaan, Asaduddin Owaisi has entered Uttar Pradesh. If he (Owaisi) will abuse them (BJP), they will not file any case against him. They are a team," he said in Bagphat.
