West Bengal governor frustrated at non-responsive Mamata government

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has expressed frustration on the state government’s attitude, claiming that the police chief, who came to meet him in Raj Bhawan, had come without any “papers of reports.”

Later, on Saturday afternoon, the governor blamed chief minister Mamata Banerjee for not submitting details of the situation.

Earlier, he had said in a tweet that he expected the two senior state officials to be comprehensive and update with the state of affairs, particularly with “respect to raging post-poll retributive violence and vandalism.”

A few days ago a team of the home ministry had reached Kolkata for evaluation on ground. It had held a meeting with the Governor.

Presently, West Bengal is currently under a spell of raging violence. Both the BJP and CPI-M has accused the ruling Trinamool Congress.

The MHA is expected to take further actions after a report is submitted by its team.

At least 14 BJP workers are said to have lost lives and nearly one lakh people fled their homes in post-poll violence in West Bengal.
