What Masjid, it wasn’t so since 1935 while a temple was since 1949: Swamy
Dr Subramanian Swamy, BJP MP of Rajya Sabha, has slammed those who are criticizing the acquittal of 32 accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case and includes LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti.
Tweeted Swamy: “Nor they incited the kar sevaks nor every proof was produced nor the so-called Masjid was one since 1935, and in fact was a temple since 1949 with idols of Rama, Sita, Lakshman, Hanuman, 100s of monkeys swing from tree to tree, and a cow paced up and down.”
He said the recourse of going to a higher court was always available to critics. He further added that all the people acquitted were at a distance from the demolition site and nobody has ever said they received orders from Advani or others.
In a judgment of 2,300-page, the CBI court said on Wednesday there was no conclusive evidence against the accused of being part of any conspiracy to bring down the disputed structure in Ayodhya.
Judge S K Yadav delivered the final verdict on his retirement day and said that the CBI never sent the cassettes to forensic laboratories to ascertain their veracity.
Some of those acquitted chanted “Jai Shri Ram” as did Advani at his home. “It’s very important decision and a matter of happiness for us. When we heard the news of the court’s order, we welcomed it by chanting Jai Shri Ram,” he said in a video message.
