Yogi govt distributes Rs 1,000 each to 23 lakh labourers of Uttar Pradesh
The government of Uttar Pradesh has transferred Rs 1,000 each to 23 lakh labourers including hawkers, vendors, and others in the unorganized sector in the state as sustenance allowance amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
While launching the initiative virtually, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said,”Be it the dream of building a house, proper treatment for illness, cost of education or the need of financial help in any mishap, the state government is there with you at every step.”
The chief minister also interacted with the workers from different districts of the state virtually. He enquired about their work, home and family before taking feedback on various government schemes.
CM Yogi said in the past year and a half when the entire world was grappling with the pandemic, it is the combined effort from everyone including wagers and daily labourers that Uttar Pradesh, despite being the most populous state, managed to curb the Covid-19 spread and bring the outrageous situation under control.
“The labour brothers have made a significant contribution through complete dedication and hard work in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of ‘Self-reliant India’,” he added while interacting with the workers from different districts of the state virtually.
UP government has been taking stringent actions to mitigate the Covid-19 spread and taking equal actions to help small shopkeepers, daily wage laborers, rickshaw/e-rickshaw pullers, porters, barbers, washermen, cobblers and confectioners, etc in the state.
The government has even launched a website for their assistance through which every labourer who will register on the website would be offered annual insurance of Rs 5,000,00 by the state government.
The state government will also provide 20 kg wheat and 15 kg rice to 1,65,31,000 laborers.
The UP government is also spreading awareness about vaccination. Various schemes are initiated to encourage people to get vaccinated. Earlier this month, Mission June was also started in which CM Yogi intends to inoculate 90 lakhs to 1 crore beneficiaries across 75 districts of the state in the month of June.
“Our goal is to give shots to 90 lakhs to 1 crore people across 75 districts of the state in the month of June. For this, 2100 booths have been set up across these districts to inoculate 18+ beneficiaries. In order to vaccinate 45 and above age category people, more than 3000 booths are being made across the state. We have a sufficient amount of vaccine vials available to meet our target,” said the Chief Minister
The government has set up special pink booths, considering the safety of women. The chief minister also announced a special vaccination drive for socially and economically weaker sections
So far, the state government has administered over 2 crore vaccination and has vaccinated over 30 lakh people aged between 18-44, the highest in the country for this age group.
