Yogi is confident UP’s per capita would exceed India’s in next 5 years

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath is confident that Uttar Pradesh’s per capita income would over the one of country in next five years. 

Addressing the “Pravasi Bharatiya Sammelan” in Varanasi, Yogi Adityanath said that UP presently has a Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Rs 17.06 trillion while India’s is at Rs 222.48 trillion, as per the Statista. 

Moreover, the recent 20.1% GDP growth witnessed in Q1 of FY21-22, India’s per capita is $1947 while Uttar Pradesh’s $1000 as per the CEIC figures. 

Uttar Pradesh is set to go to polls in February next year. In 2017, BJP had made a thumping victory in Uttar Pradesh, garnering 312 seats compared to 55 of pre-poll alliance of SP (Akhilesh Yadav) and Congress (Rahul Gandhi).
