Delhi imposes night curfew between 10 p.m-5 a.m till April 30





Delhi government has imposed night curfew with immediate effect, news agency ANI has tweeted. 

The night curfew will be in place from 10 pm to 5 am till 30 April. This is done in the wake of COVID-19 situation. 

This is the toughest measure Delhi government has taken since the outbreak of a fresh surge in coronavirus infections in the Capital. 

Only on Friday, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that a lockdown was not being considered yet. 

During the curfew hours in night, traffic movement wouldn’t be stopped. Those going for vaccinations would also be allowed but with an e-pass. 

Those in essential services and retailers would be allowed with similar passes. So would be the journalists of the print and electronic media. 

Private doctors, nurses and other medical staff would be allowed movement with ID cards.

Exceptions will also be made for pregnant women and those needing treatment.

Delhi reported 3,548 new Covid-1919 cases, 2,936 recoveries, and 15 deaths on Monday. 

With this, total cases in the national capital reached 6,79,962, including 14,589 active cases.
