Yogi’s UP allocates Rs 101 crores for Shriram Airport at Ayodhya

The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated Rs 101 crores for the construction of Maryada Purushottam Shriram Airport at Ayodhya in its Rs 5.5 lakh crore budget for 2021-22.

This budget will likely be the last budget of the BJP government, before the state goes to polls in 2022. It is also UP’s first paperless budget.

The airport in Ayodhya aims at handling the surge in international and domestic tourist traffic once the grand Ram temple becomes operational.

According to official sources, the Yogi Adityanath government has set the December 2021 deadline for completion of the airport.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also taken vital steps towards realising his ambitious project — the Ayodhya ‘upnagar’ — a new town adjacent to Ayodhya. This project draws inspiration from the civilizational pride, aesthetics and heritage of Shri Ram’s Ayodhya.
